Large diameter cap with brass male terminals eliminates spark carryover (misfiring) considered common in many other systems. Coil is mounted internally out of the harsh marine envionment, and is about double the voltage of old style oil filled coils. Base is vented and cap is sealed to pass J1171 requirements for marine use by the U.S.C.G. Advance curve is pre-set for fastest starting and high performance and/or fuel economy.
