A distributor thats beautiful? This ZAP! is! CNC machined from billet aluminum and polished. Perfect spark distribution and longevity is achieved by use a sealed ball bearing rather than a bushing that must have clearance. We all know magnets don't just up and quit like light bulbs, so we transfer our spark using this method. This entire unit is built to stringent marine and USCG standards and can be used for all out racing, cruising, off-road, street or show. Built to accomodate very high voltage coils with low primary resistance such as our ZAP! 291760k. Of course this requires delivery to the spark plugs through very efficient spiral core wires like our ZAP! assembled 8.5MM sets. (MSD doesn't offer marine sets)

This ZAP! weatherproof coil is designed using the highest grade marine components, hence the permanent blue color of the high performance cooling fins. (not available thru MSD) Very low primary resistance for use with quality distributors such as the new ZAP! unit (available April 2010). Due to the tremendous output of this coil, we recommend the very best grade of spiral core ignition wires, such as the new ZAP! assembled sets (available April 2010) or MSD blue 8.5MM (MSD doesn't have marine wires-ZAP! will). Secondary output could exceed 60,000 volts depending on your distributor and other conditions, so don't take its small exterior size lightly! Completely epoxy assembled, so there is no oil to overheat or windings that can vibrate loose, so it may be used for any type of harsh marine envionment including racing, off-road, drag racing, cruising or even street use.
