WHY PLAY WITH CONVERSION KITS AND OLD PARTS? This newly designed (and long overdue!) marine approved plug n play distributor is ready to ship NOW! Large diameter cap with brass male terminals eliminates spark carryover (misfiring) considered common in many other systems. Our high performance coil is mounted internally out of the harsh marine envionment, and is about double the voltage of old style oil filled coils. Base is vented and cap is sealed to pass J1171 requirements for marine use by the U.S.C.G. Advance curve is pre-set for fastest starting plus high performance and fuel economy. Available for most Chev V8 and 4.3 V6 and 302 Ford. (351W soon!) Replaces MerCruiser, Volvo, OMC, Pleasurecraft, etc. electronic or point-type. Case is polished aluminum and cap is red to match our custom red 8.5 mm spiral core spark plug wire harness available for just $89.97. These sets feature not only the type of wire necessary for these coils, but have 3/16" thick boots on both ends to seal power in and moisture out. Highly recommended for full performance and economy. NOTE ON WIRES-When increasing the plug gap to .060, this increases the resistance. This is the main reason why you cannot use lower grade spark plug wires. We will include these wires ($89.97) for no additional shipping charges when ordered with the distributor, PLUS we will increase your warranty period from one to two years!

INSTALLATION PROBLEMS: A few boat manufacturers have oil pressure senders and shift cables running directly past the distributor. Various brass fittings solve the sender issue, and Teleflex offers various shift/throttle cable mounts to allow our 1" larger diameter distributor to be used. (most customers have been modifying their present bracket) Being able to legally use our distributor more than offsets these minor one-time obstacles!
Our limited warranty covers mechanical functions. Electrical functions such as cap, rotor, and other electrical functions are considered tune-up maintainence items are not covered of course.
NOTE: This is a USCG approved marine distributor! The difference between auto and marine is that the case must be vented and screened internally rather than the cap! This is done to prevent ignition sparks in your engine room. Yourinsurance is worthless if you run automotive parts on a marine engine! If you forget your drain plug, have your steering wheel stolen or some unrelated circumstance, and your insurance inspector finds automotive items in place of marine, your insurance is worthless! Marine distributors have no vacuum canister, and have a different advance curve suited best for marine performance AND economy. There are 5 other items on gas powered marine engines that require USCG approval. Do you know what they are? We do!
